Ingredients- for Dal Khichdi


1 cup cooked Basmati Rice
1 cup cooked tuver dal (2 spoon moong dal added)
1/2 cup fried sliced onions golden brown
1/2 cup fried onions light dark brown
1/2 cup chopped tomato
1 tbsp finely chopped ginger, garlic, chilli
1 tbsp finely chopped coriander
2 tbsp ghee
1 charcoal pc
1 tsp Kashmiri red chilli powder
1 tsp dhania jeera powder
1/4 tsp haldi powder
1/4 tsp hing
1 tsp jeera
1 whole red chilli
1 tsp roasted Kasoori methi
Salt accordingly


Method-to make Dal khichdi

keep all vegetables cut ready. also keep fried dark onion ready

also keep dal boiled and rice cooked ready


In a pan, add ghee, jeera, whole red chili, hing…saute a little then add garlic, chili, ginger & tomatoes..

cook till tomatoes get softened.

Later add, golden brown onions, dal& cook

cook till dal boils..then add rice,

Kasoori methi & salt accordingly ..

Mix properly & cook till ghee releases..

place a bowl of khichdi & keep burning charcoal & pour a little ghee & immediately cover it with a lid.

Keep it for 5 min.

.Ready to serve..garnish with dark brown onions & coriander
